Opportune times and moments
“And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.” Luke 8:45-46, 48 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/luk.8.45-48.kjv

Divine power is unlocked through purposeful encounters. It is not about the multitude, it’s an individual encounter backed by faith. There is a difference between the regular press of the multitude and an encounter that causes Heaven to notice an individual or event. In today’s Bible reading, Jesus was on a mission to heal a dying child. As usual, he was thronged by the multitude, the people who tagged along looking for miracles, some for the show. Yet in the midst of all that, Jesus stopped because an unusual touch had happened. He stopped because he felt virtue leave him. He stopped because even though he was not intending to heal this person, the person’s faith had connected in such a way that God released the virtue to heal her even without Jesus giving it out willingly. The Bible tells us that since the days of John the Baptist the kingdom of heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force. The force here was the force of her faith. The force that caused another assignment to be temporarily on hold to acknowledge what had just happened. When the woman with the issue of blood came forward to confirm that she had received her healing, Jesus confirmed to her that her faith had made her whole. She was not only healed, she was made whole for daring to believe against all odds that an answer that has eluded her for 12 years was in an encounter with the hem of the garment of Jesus Christ. What are you dealing with that looks insurmountable. Have faith, the kind that moves mountains. God still performs miracles. Trust him and focus completely.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are the indescribable and merciful God. Thank you because your ways are so far away from ours. Lord, I come before you in complete trust and faith on every long-standing and pressing topic of my heart. Let my faith in you unlock heaven’s portal to deliver uncommon answers to me in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
