”For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.“ Isaiah 55:10-11 KJV

Often we experience apparently similar life events with others but the effects are different for each individual and you would wonder why. Sometimes within the same message, someone gets a life transforming nugget that continues to speak for them and for others it may just pass by or address an immediate need for them. The Bible reading today paints such a profound analogy to this. It says that the rain comes to water the earth and makes seeds to bud. That is where the general bit ends. The specifics beyond that point is that this seeds that have budded become bread to the eater and seed to the sower. Same event, same initial results but translates to a one time need in one case and a continuously giving solution for another. This is why we should be sensitive as believers and connect to God’s heartbeat concerning each situation so that we can recognize what is bread and what is seed in each circumstance of blessing so that we don’t make costly trade offs. They are both worthy causes however if priorities are misplaced and we do not intentionally address each portion then we may be missing out on the intended outcome of the blessings for our specific situation.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for consistently being mindful of us your children. Thank you for your blessings upon us always. Please Lord, help me to connect to your instructions and intent for the specific situations of my life so that I don’t misappropriate your blessings in my life and craft in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
