Plea for Mercy
“Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it. And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.” Isaiah 13:9, 17, 19 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/isa.13.17.kjv

If there is anything that we must do as children of God, it is to continue to plead for the mercy of God to avert judgement upon the land. This is because God’s indignation is a terrible thing upon the land. The Bible reading gives an indication of what that looks like in the prophecy of Isaiah against Babylon. In God’s bid to destroy the sinners out of the land, the land was to be laid desolate. The things that were considered precious to them would not matter in such a time. Hence, it speaks again to what our priorities should be. The Bible tells us to lay up our treasures in heaven where they are secure and preserved. So, as you continue to lay up your treasures in heaven by the choices that you make also take out time to intercede for the land against the fierce anger of the Lord.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness always. Thank you because you are slow to anger and plenteous in mercies. I come before you today along with the body of saints to plead for your mercies upon the land. For the sake of the elect please have mercy upon our land and save us from destruction in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
