Protect your flame

“The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us, for we have sinned! Because of this our heart is faint; Because of these things our eyes grow dim; Because of Mount Zion which is desolate, With foxes walking about on it.” Lamentations 5:16-18 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/lam.5.16-18.NKJV

Protect your flame

What is the status of your altar of worship? The place of encounter with God? The virtual meeting place of fellowship in your heart? The Bible tells us in the book of Leviticus that the fire on the altar must never go out. It must be burning always. This is because as soon as that fire goes out, all sort of things start to creep in. We had been taught as an analogy that flies and cockroaches don’t perch on a hot oven. In the Bible reading today, the prophet laments about the many troubles of Israel as a result of their sins.  He makes a profound analogy about Mount Zion being desolate and foxes walking about on it. Imagine!!! God’s own city, His pride.. So, have you been God’s pride in the past? If so, are you still his pride? When he looks at your place of worship, would he be pleased to come in or would he say “Far be it from me”? The fire of the Lord on your altar repels filth and all manner of “roaches”. Don’t let it go out.  Spend some time reestablishing that altar today.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness and your lovingkindness always. Thank you for your fire that repels the devil and his cohorts. Please Lord I come to you afresh. Please let the fire of my altar be pleasing to you. Abide with me and let the world see the evidence of a life hid in you in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
