Purity for Worship
“when they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD: so they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations.” Exodus 30:20-21 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/exo.30.20-21.kjv

Purity is a prerequisite for worship. We see so many Bible references to purity and sanctification as a condition for acceptance by God. The psalmist asks that God create in him a clean heart and renew the right spirit within him. He add onto the request by asking God not to cast him away from his presence. In today’s Bible reading, the instruction of God for the priests was to wash their hands and legs so that they do not die when they come near to worship. The psalmist tells us how blessed the person is who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the ungodly or stands in the way of sinners but instead whose delight is in the word of the Lord. The psalmist also tells us that the one who can ascend into the holy hills of the lord must have a clean hand and clean heart. So do you yearn for the blessings of the presence? Then you must be committed to partnering with God on the sanctification process. Guard your hearts, guard your steps and guard your actions. Invest in the water of the word of God that you may be cleansed thereby.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are a Holy God who is yet mindful of us as your creations. Thank you for the privilege of your word and the Holy Spirit for sanctification. Lord, I receive the grace to partner with you in the journey to become better and brighter as I soak in the water if your word. Let the benefit of sanctification be evident to all in my life by the glory of your presence in me in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
