Rekindle your Fire
“And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father had done. He in the first year of his reign, in the first month, opened the doors of the house of the LORD, and repaired them. And he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them together into the east street, And the priests went into the inner part of the house of the LORD, to cleanse it, and brought out all the uncleanness that they found in the temple of the LORD into the court of the house of the LORD. And the Levites took it, to carry it out abroad into the brook Kidron.” 2 Chronicles 29:2-4, 16 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/2ch.29.2-16.kjv

The first step for rekindling the fire of worship before the most High God is to open up the temple and to clean it up. In the Bible reading today, king Hezekiah was credited with doing what was right in the eye of the Lord. He started off his reign by asking the temple that had been abandoned over the years by his predecessors to be opened and then appointed priests to carry out the cleansing before rallying the people to a grand worship and sacrifice unto God. The fire of the altar was rekindled again, but only after cleansing and sanctification. So question today is: What is the state of the altar of your heart, do you have an appreciation for its state compared to what God demands? The first step is the opening up and cleansing. There are no shortcuts, the process of cleansing and sanctification must precede the worship that bring the presence of God into the mix. So, are you desperately seeking the blessings and victories that comes from a life filled with God’s presence? Then, take the first step on the journey of restoration to rekindle the fire of worship.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness. Thank you for loving us and making a way of return back to you. Dear Lord, please open my eyes to see all that represents filth in my heart and help me through the word and Holy Spirit to purify and consecrate the altar of my heart so that you can be pleased to fellowship with me and grant victories over life’s situations 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
