Repentance precedes Restoration
“O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity. Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips. I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him. I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.” Hosea 14:1-2, 4-5 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/hos.14.1-5.kjv

Repentance breeds restoration. The Bible tells us that, if God’s people humble themselves and pray and seek him face, turning from their wicked ways, that God will hear and heal their land. The Bible reading today corroborates this by saying that if Israel repents and turns to God recognizing him as the source of their help, he will heal them from their backsliding. He then goes on to say that he will then be a source of blessing to them like the dew that enables growth. So as an individual and a people, a critical way to receive restoration is a recognition of wrong doing and a willingness to repent of such and to seek the one who not only forgives but also restores.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness always. Thank you for always being there. Thank you for your mercies that prevail over judgement. Lord we turn from our evil ways and seek your face. Please be gracious unto us. Hear us, heal us and restore us in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
