Reverence the Lord

“For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.” Isaiah 13:10-11 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/isa.13.10-11.kjv

Reverence the Lord

The lord tells us that the heaven is his throne and the earth his footstool. He rules in the affairs of men and has times and seasons in his hands. He is able to reverse the course of nature as he pleases and to serve his purpose. This is very important to note because the one who controls the very elements that puts our earth in rhythm is all powerful.  He gave a sample of this power in today’s Bible reading when he described the punishment that would be coming on Babylon and the world by extension for all their pride and haughtiness. The key element of their punishment was that he would take away their light source, the Sun, the moon and even the stars. As soon as light is out of the way then darkness thrives, growth is stunted, people stumble and fall, amongst other terrible things.  It is therefore important to acknowledge God’s Lordship always because if he were to decide to show just a little bit of his power, the world cannot withstand its import.

Prayer:  Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness and kindness always. Thank you for tempering judgement with mercy. Lord, I acknowledge you as the Lord over my life and situation. Please show to the world that you are indeed Lord over my life 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
