Run the race
“And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: but when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.” Mark 4:5-7 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/mrk.4.5-7.kjv

How do you define success? Do you call it a win as soon as the first signs show up or do you watch it through to fruition? In today’s Bible reading, the parable is told of the sower who goes out to sow seeds and the seeds fell on different types of soils. In one instance, it fell on stony grounds where there was no depth and so while the plants sprung up initially they quickly faded away as they could not stand the test of time. On the other hand, there were those that fell within thorns and while they grew, you couldn’t count them as successful since the environment choked them and they did not bear fruits. The only one that yielded fruits were those that fell on good soil and multiplied tremendously. As you sow your seeds and efforts in the kingdom, be wary of seeming success and calling it a win early. Ensure that you nurture and watch over your seeds and work till they grow and bear fruits. Whether it is soul winning or the assignment that God has given you in the sphere of life that you are in. Success is that you bear fruit and that the fruits abide. Don’t quit early. Don’t rest early. Get your race across the finish line.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness always. Thank you for being faithful unto us. As we go about our kingdom assignments, please grant us discerning hearts so that we can fulfill your purpose and assignment in our lives in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
