Sanctification before encounter
“Seven days thou shalt make an atonement for the altar, and sanctify it; and it shall be an altar most holy: whatsoever toucheth the altar shall be holy. And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory. And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest's office. And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.” Exodus 29:37, 43-45 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/exo.29.37-45.kjv

There is a pre-work for an encounter. When God dwells in the midst of a people, there is a unique mark upon them. There are deliverances, battles are won for them without lifting a hand and there is uncommon Favour. It is a great privilege to be called God’s people. However, we see in the Bible reading today that there was work to be done in advance by the Isrealites for there to be a meeting with God. The altar had to be sanctified holy for many days as a pre-requisite after which God comes into the temple and then sanctifies it further with his glory before he puts his stamp on the people as “God’s people”. The altar today is in the hearts of men and we are required to live holy unto God and while we know that we need God’s Grace to live above sin, there is a conscious effort to show that we are indeed ready for the grace to take us to the next level of holiness. You cannot surround yourself with prompter of sin and a residue of a past life of spiritual recklessness and yet say that we are seeking grace. The Bible says “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you” (James 4:8). Are you looking for the supernatural victory that comes from a life of consecration to God? Then you need to kickstart the chain reaction. You need to light the tiny match that will eventually mature into a inferno when the glory of the Lord is attracted to the place of holiness in the temple of encounter. Glory!!!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I need your grace for consecration and so I commit by the help of the Holy Spirit to do my part. Please open my eyes to see the areas I need to focus on to prepare me for the divine encounter that will transform my life forever 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
