”Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: but I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.“ Matthew 5:27-28 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/mat.5.27-28.kjv

The Bible asks us to guard our hearts with all diligence because out of it proceeds the issues of life. God is concerned about the state of our heart because it is the engine that feeds the whole of our being and that is why we must be intentional about what we let into our hearts. Jesus highlights the importance of our heart’s state to us in today’s Bible reading with the example of adultery. He states that the fact that you conceived it in your heart alone is enough to be qualified as sin. Hence, as heaven-bound Christians it is important that we consistently evaluate the state of our heart to make sure it is acceptable to the one who is coming back for a church without blemish or wrinkle. What is your heart focused on?
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are the author and finisher of our faith. Thank you for Jesus who intercedes on our behalf as a high priest that is touched with the feelings of our infirmity. Lord, I tap into the grace that is available to us afresh and receive strength to keep my heart pure and focused on the things of the kingdom. Help me not to be distracted and detracted on my kingdom journey in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
