Seasoned with the salt of the covenant
“And every oblation of thy grain offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy grain offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.” Leviticus 2:13 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/lev.2.13.kjv
Is your offering to God seasoned with salt or is it bland, lacking flavor? In the Bible reading today, the Isrealites were enjoined to ensure that the offerings that they bring before God is not lacking the salt of the covenant of God. The offering to God must be purified, sanctified holy unto God and done with intentionality. Like David said when he thought about all the things that God had done for him, that he will not given unto God what cost him nothing. The Bible also reminds us that God loves a cheerful giver, he loves the sacrifice of our hearts as a living sacrifice. So as you yield your resources and gifts to God, always check that it indeed carries the flavor of the covenant of our God unto his saints- evidenced by holiness and righteousness.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I bring to you afresh the sacrifice of my heart. Please accept me and the offerings I bring 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
