Seek God First
“Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance. For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him. The Bible says to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and everything else will be added to us. It is important to commence any journey in life with God because one with him is a majority. In the Bible reading today, Ezra had boasted about the power of God to the king of Persia and so when it was time to commence the journey back to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple he could not go to the king to ask for protection. So, he declared a fast in the congregation of the people for God’s protection. We all know that when all the glory is due to God, He shows up in all his majesty. The remnants of Isreal were able to make the journey in safety with all treasures preserved because they took out time at the beginning to seek out heaven’s insurance and assurance. Like Moses who said to God that if his presence did not go with them they were not ready to go forward. What endeavors are you commencing? Have you sought God’s will and presence? He is all that you need. He has and will overcome the world on our behalf.
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for your faithfulness always. Thank you because you are plenteous in wisdom and mercy. Father, I commit my life endeavors afresh into your hands. Please lead me by your grace and let me be victorious always in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
