Seek His Mercies
“In their setting of their threshold by my thresholds, and their post by my posts, and the wall between me and them, they have even defiled my holy name by their abominations that they have committed: wherefore I have consumed them in mine anger. Now let them put away their whoredom, and the carcases of their kings, far from me, and I will dwell in the midst of them for ever.” Ezekiel 43:8-9 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/ezk.43.8-9.kjv

The Bible tells us that the foundation of the Lord stands sure having this seal, that the Lord knows those that are his and therefore everyone that names God’s name should depart from iniquity. It is a dangerous slope to on the one hand name the name of God and be associated with God as a child of God while at the same time toying with sin and all manner of iniquities. This is because you bring disrepute to the name of God. God does not take this lightly. We see in the Bible reading today when God was speaking to the prophet Ezekiel about how Isreal had soiled his name and how he consumed them in his anger. The book of revelations also talks about the messages to the churches in which God spoke about spewing out of his mouth those that were neither hot nor cold. God’s expectations are clear. He is a holy God and everyone associated with the brand must be holy. God wants you to point glory to his name and not shame. The misdeeds of a child of God often cause people to speak badly about God. Don’t set yourself on a collision path with your father by consistently living in sin. Ask for his mercies and retrace your steps back to the center of his will.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for being our God, our shield and buckler. Thank you for consistently glorifying yourself in my life. Please Lord teach me constantly. Help me to know your ways so that I don’t fall into error and bring disrepute to your name. Please have mercy for any past misdeeds and let your glory in me never diminish in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
