Sin paves way for destruction

“And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, according to all that Jehoiakim had done. For through the anger of the Lord it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.” 2 Kings 24:19-20 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/2ki.24.19-20.kjv

Sin paves way for destruction

It is a dangerous thing to continue in sin perpetually despite warnings because at some point you may hit the edge of no return. The Bible tells us in Romans 1:28 that as the people did not like to retain God in the their hearts, he gave them over to a reprobate mind to do that which is not convenient. In the Bible reading today, we see that through God’s anger, he made the king of Judah to continue to rebel against Babylon who was now their captor until Jerusalem had come to complete destruction according to God’s pronouncement earlier. Their consistent disobedience as a nation led them down that path and ultimately they became a self-fulfilling prophecy.  What is God constantly warning you about? What path are you headed that is contrary to God’s leading? It is important that you take a step back and ask God for mercy before you get into a spiral of helplessness doing things that are not convenient but unable to help one’s self.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your mercy always. Father, please have mercy on me for any acts of disobedience, and help me through the Holy spirit to retrace my steps to you so that I  am not given over to a reprobate mind in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
