Standing Faith
”And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.“ Matthew 14:29-32 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/mat.14.29-32.kjv

The Bible says that if we have faith as small as the mustard seed we would say to a mountain that it be moved and cast into the sea and it would happen. Faith is a critical ingredient for our Christian walk because there are bound to be challenges along the path but our ability to stay focused on the one who is able to deliver and assure our glorious destination and end is very important. In the Bible reading today, we see the example of Peter who saw Jesus walking on water and asked him to invite him into the experience. Well, he got the invitation and was doing great until he looked out of the window of his journey to observe the boisterous winds at which point he began to fear and then started to sink until he screamed out to Jesus for help. Of course, Jesus helped him and he arrived back into ship but the question he had for him was “Why did you doubt?”. Are you feeling overwhelmed by the boisterous winds on your journey to destiny. Look unto God. Trust in the capacity of the one who got you to this point and know that he is able to get you to the destination. Do you already see yourself sinking due to fear? Call out to God today in desperate surrender and he will help you.
