Stay with God
”Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.“ Isaiah 66:1-2 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/isa.66.1-2.kjv

The Bible asks us a critical question in the book of 1st Corinthians saying “What do you have that you did not receive”? This speaks to the fact that we came to the world with nothing and that all that we have, are given to us by God. This makes it interesting when we hoard that which we have received from the one who gave it in the first place. In today’s Bible verse, God gives us a glimpse into his capacity stating that the heaven is his throne and the earth as large as it appears is only God’s footstool. Hence, there is no house that we can build for him. We cannot impress God with the very things that he made. As such, he is instead looking to our hearts as the place of fellowship. He is looking for the person with a contrite spirit and that takes God’s words seriously. Recall that the one in whom God pleases has every other thing added to him. Hence rather than chasing after the world, why not sit in the place of his pleasure and watch what everyone else chases coming to you on the platter of gold because you have found pleasure in the owner of all things created.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are the faithful God who is mindful of the details of my life. Lord, I commit afresh to a new walk with you. Let me please you Lord and let the results of your pleasure in me be evident to the world in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
