Strengthened by Waiting
“Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin: that walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt! For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.” Isaiah 30:1-2, 7 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/isa.30.1-7.kjv

The Bible tells us that those that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. As children of God, we need to learn the act of just being still and waiting on God’s directions in the pressing issues of our lives. This is because the Bible tells us that his ways are not our ways. Often,we think that we have it figured out or in restlessness we seek help from the wrong sources without realizing that we are probably headed down a detour from God’s purpose and specific path for our life and the specific situation that we are in. Moses told the people of Israel in the face of pending doom from the Egyptians that were chasing them to standstill and see the salvation of the Lord. God shows up at the nick of time to deliver those who trust him completely and follow his instructions. In the Bible reading today, God was chastising the people of Israel who run to Egypt for help and who take advice without checking with God. They are reminded that their strength is in sitting still but often we are too impatient with God. Are you feeling the need to intervene on God’s behalf especially over a topic that he has given you assurance about? Rethink it. Be still, follow his prompting and the outcomes of God’s intervention in his own time is nothing short of beautiful.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you make all things beautiful in your time. Lord please teach me to trust you completely and to wait on your deliverance. Please grant me grace to walk the path with you unto glory in all the pressing issues of my life in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
