Take your stand
“Thus the Lord God showed me: Behold, He formed locust swarms at the beginning of the late crop; indeed it was the late crop after the king’s mowings. And so it was, when they had finished eating the grass of the land, that I said: “O Lord God, forgive, I pray! Oh, that Jacob may stand, For he is small!” So the Lord relented concerning this. “It shall not be,” said the Lord.” Amos 7:1-3 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/amo.7.1-3.NKJV

Take your stand! The Lord is constantly seeking for those who will bridge the gap, who will intercede on behalf of the Land. He says to us in the Bible that if the people who are called by his name will humble themselves and pray and seek his face and turn from their wicked ways that he will come and heal their land. In the book of Ezekiel, God said that he looked for someone to repair the walls and stand in the gap so that he would not destroy the land but he found none. The Israelites enjoyed the benefits of an intercessor in Moses on their journey to the promised land. When they had sinned and God was going to destroy them, Moses pleaded their case and reminded God of the audience that was watching who would say that God was unable to get them to the promised land and so they were destroyed in the wilderness. For his sake, God changed his mind about what he had planned. We see the same thing in today’s Bible reading where God showed Amos some terrible visions of what was going to happen to Israel and he pleaded and God had mercy and relented. What role are you playing in your community and the nation at large. As children of God, we are to warn but also to intercede. Take your stand!!!
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are plenteous in mercy and your mercy prevails over judgement. Lord I repent of any past lackadaisical attitude towards my position as an intercessor. Lord please help me to take up my stand and Lord in your mercy intervene in our land in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
