The enemy within

“And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.” Numbers 21:5-7 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/num.21.5-7.kjv

The enemy within

Watch out for the enemy within. The chapter of today’s Bible reading highlights some of the encounters that the Israelites ahead as they journeyed in the wilderness. They were provoked by some of the countries in their path and God gave them victory. However within all that, the texts of the Bible reading shows how the Israelites suffered significant defeat from the enemy within. They murmured against God, the one who continued to fight for them against the various enemies. Their complaints and murmuring - the enemy within - resulted in several of them dying until they reached out in repentance for their wrong.  Often, when God is fighting for you against external enemies, you need to make sure that you are not being an enemy to yourself. It’s a dangerous slope. This is why the devil tries hard to break our relationship with our number one ally, God. Guard your heart and tongue. Walk with God in the journey into your rest as he fights for you.

Prayer:  Dear Lord, thank you because you are my shield and defender. Thank you for all the several battles that you have won for me. Please Lord help me to trust you completely and not to become an internal enemy to your move in my life in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. ‎
