The foundation of God stands sure
“Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I set my face against them. And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, saith the Lord GOD.” Ezekiel 15:6-8 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/ezk.15.6-8.kjv

The Bible tells of an analogy of a great house where there are many vessels. They are made of gold, silver, wood and earth amongst others. Some unto honor and some unto dishonor. We are then told that if we purge ourselves of filth we can be vessels unto honor that are fit for the Master’s use. So, are you a vessel unto honor or dishonor? The thing about being a vessel unto honor though is that it’s not an absolute category. If the master’s favorite spoon falls into a dung hill, chances are slim that it will ever be used for eating again. It could be picked up and washed but probably remain on a shelf somewhere. In a related story, the Bible reading today talks about God equating Jerusalem, his beloved Jerusalem, to a vine tree that is meant for firewood. Why? Because they had committed a trespass against God. And so he was going to make them desolate. I imagine that they must have committed a grievous or series of grievous offenses. This remains a note of warning to the favorites of God, those who are used mightily of God. Never forget that the foundation of the Lord stands sure and he knows those that are his. His criteria is: depart from evil. Choose wisely.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are a righteous and holy God. Thank you for your amazing grace. Please Lord, let your mercy and Grace speak for me consistently. Let me not be an abandoned vessel in your hands in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
