The God of redemption
“Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me. I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.” Isaiah 44:6, 21-22 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/isa.44.6-22.kjv

Our God redeems his children in his mercy. God tells us in his words to come let us reason together. In the place of reasoning, sins as red as scarlet will be made white as snow as we trade our sinful life for a divinely guided life. He continues to keep an opportunity open for repentance for his name sake. However, that invitation must be accepted for it to translate into anything tangible. He tells us that he stands at the door and knock. If we open up and ask him in, he will dine with us and we with him. It is a partnership - the offer and acceptance. In the Bible reading today, God speaks about his role as the redeemer of Isreal, and by extension to us his divine children. He talks about blotting out their sins and not forgetting them. However, he asks them to return unto him. Sometimes, we continue to languish in the clutches of sins and death not because there isn’t respite but because we have not taken the step to see what lies on the other side of returning and repentance. It does not matter how far you think you have fallen, take the step closer today. Remember God says to draw near to him and he will draw near to us. Take the step of faith in repentance, God is waiting to take the larger step to show you the offer he has already made available. Choose wisely.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness always. We come before you afresh in repentance. Repentance of sin, repentance of neglect of your instructions and fellowship. Please draw near unto me and let my life blossom afresh with your touch in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
