The guiding hands of God

“Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt? And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.” Jeremiah 2:6-7 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/jer.2.6-7.kjv

The guiding hands of God

Do you remember? A popular song  says “When I think of the goodness of Jesus and all he has done for me…. My very soul shall shout Halleluyah….”. A constant remembrance of the journey of life and the deliverances that God has wrought helps us to remain focused to the source of our strength. Very often, the destination of rest that God led some individuals into is the very reason why they forget God. They get carried away with the comforts and the new doctrines of strange friends who arrive only on the scene of success. The Bible reading today tells us of how the Israelites, having entered into their place of promise started to carve images of things and call them their God.  They had quickly forgotten the journeys of deliverance, provision and divine guidance that led them into the land of milk and honey. So, the question for you today is: Do you consciously remember God’s guiding hands in your life to this point? Or have you started to rationalize God’s deliverances as happenstance? Take stock and turn to him before it’s too late.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for always being a rock of defense for me. Thank you for provision, wisdom, guidance. Dear Lord, please bring to my remembrance always that you are indeed my source and sustainer so that I would not wonder away from your love and the center of your will. Please continue to lead me to my perfect destination of glory 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
