The Inward State
“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.” Matthew 23:25-26, 28 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/mat.23.25-28.kjv

The content matters to God. He sees what’s within and cares about the state of what’s within. This is because what’s within ultimately impacts what’s outside. The Bible says that we should guard our hearts with all diligence because out of it proceeds the issues of life. In today’s Bible reading, Jesus was challenging the Pharisees who were meant to be leaders in the temple at that time. He pointed out how much effort was going into taking care of the outer appearance when their inward selfs were full of all sort of dirt, debris and corruption. God’s mandate to us as his children is an inside out purity and righteous living. He wants us to pay attention to our inward states so that we can thrive outwardly. He want us to sanctify our inward man so that he can abide with us and transform every aspect of our lives. The one who assesses the quality of our existence has provided the marking scheme. What are you going to do differently to stand worthy before him here or earth and also in eternity?

Show me your ways and give me the grace to follow. Let my life thrive from the glory that your presence brings into my life in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
