Some of the greatest miracles of God are often taken for granted until you experience their absence then you get a better appreciation. For instance when all organs of your body functions seamlessly it goes unnoticed but the slightest head ache or immobility in a part then makes you realize how much you have been enjoying. In the Bible reading today, the psalmist talks about the Lord blessing His people with peace. The peace of the Lord that passes all understanding is one of the best gifts anyone can have. It is indeed a blessing. One way in which God guarantees peace to his beloved is to show them in advance some of the happenings that are ahead, or send a word of prophecy. This allows the person not to be perturbed when the enemy tried to surprise them because the secret had been let out previously and the individual has travailed in advance in the place of prayer. So no matter what it looks like at that instance, the assurance of God’s presence grants peace.
