It’s always interesting to watch war films from medieval times as they portray the efforts that is required as an individual to tackle the battles of life. In addition to the sword that is for the offensive, it is always critical to the protected by the bodily amour, helmet and others. But even then, there are still certain exposed parts of the body, and a spear if used right by the opponent can still pierce through the amour. Hence the elements of battle must be completed with the shield to ward of the attacks of the enemies especially when it’s so intense and you need a short break to regain your strength from sword-slinging. It’s very instructive for a Christian that the shield in the battle of life is Faith. There are challenges that come through from time to time that even the most fervent in the sword of the spirit which is the word of God may need to catch a breath. At those times, the shield that protects from all the darts of life’s issues and potential self-doubt is the Faith that He will come through. But Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. In addition, Faith is built praying in the Holyspirit to renew our strength. Are you building up your store of Faith...?
