The truth shall set you free

”And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee. And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say. And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.“ Exodus 4:1-2, 12, 31 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/exo.4.1-31.kjv

The truth shall set you free

Are you scarred by your past? Often, we have future impactful steps ahead of us but would hesitate based on experiences from the past. Such was the case of Moses in the Bible reading today. He was barely recovering from the rejection from his kindred, an Israelite, that led him to flee from Egypt for his life. Yet here was God commissioning him to lead the tribe of Israel out of Egypt. He was needing to go deal with his past in the most uncomfortable way possible. Hence his natural response was doubt.  He asked God, “What if they don’t believe me?” because the question from the Israelite who had rejected him earlier was “Who made you judge over us?”. However God showed him a few examples to show that he wasn’t the same person anymore. At the mountain of encounter he had now been endued with power. His rod became a serpent, by putting his hand in his blossom it became white and all those reversed as well. In addition, God was promising him of His presence and that he will teach him what to say.  He eventually went, after some more negotiation and we see that the people believed him because he was no longer Moses the prince, he had become Moses the sent of God. God said to us that he makes all things new and that the former things are passed away. Is God leading you in a certain direction? Even if it is something or somewhere where you have failed in the past, what matters is who is now telling you to go forward. That truth makes all the difference. Trust God completely.

Prayer: Dear God, thank you because you rule in the affairs of men. You make all things new. Please Lord, I look to you afresh for direction. Lead me Lord, empower me Lord and grant me victory in the journey of life as I partner with you on every assignment that you have placed in my hands 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. ‎
