The Wrath of God
“And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzar–adan, captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem: And he burnt the house of the Lord, and the king's house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great man's house burnt he with fire. And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down the walls of Jerusalem round about.” 2 Kings 25:8-10 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/2ki.25.8-9.kjv

And the pronouncement of God against Judah was fulfilled in the Bible reading today. In God’s anger towards Judah for their chronic sin and disregard for their maker, he had said that ears will tingle at the judgement that was to be executed on Judah. While our God is a loving father, the Bible also tells us at that he is a consuming fire. It is important that we continue to live on the loving side of our father and not take for granted the grace that has been made available to us as individuals and as a people. As children of God, we have the responsibility to warn others, to remind them of the commandments of God and the boundaries that he set for living so that we don’t all come into collective destruction as a people.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are indeed a loving father and savior to us. Please Lord, help us to live according to your will. Nudge us and remind us so that we do not go astray and fall from your favor as individuals and a people 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
