Total Dependence on God

“And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: they have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.” Exodus 32:7-8 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/exo.32.7-8.kjv

Total Dependence on God

Learn to focus and wait on God alone as your Plan A-Z. Has he said it, shall he not do it? Has he promised and will he not make it good? Often, we get impatient with God because our physical eyes are unable to see the spiritual, and even physical, processes that are working behind the scenes. In today’s Bible reading, while Moses was on the mountain top having conversations with God and receiving detailed instructions for the continued sustenance of God’s fellowship with his people through the tabernacle, ark of testimony and other things, the people were agitated and assumed the worst had happened.  They wanted a graven image as a representation of God that was leading them. It somewhat speaks to their mental model because despite God showing up for them all through the journey and even just prior to this event on the mountain, they had now equated Moses to their vision of God and so with Moses out of the picture they needed a new physical anchor. They needed a temporary respite and comfort when God was working long-term processes and procedures. They turned to a very inconsequential plan B because they thought that Plan A was closed.  The consequences of those actions turned out to be really bad for them and could have been worse if not for the intercession by Moses. How many times do we as modern day Christians agitate for a sign that God is working? The human in us wants results but we must learn to trust God completely and wait on him. He has to be plan A-Z. He is a jealous God who would never share his glory with anyone or anything. Don’t miss out on the benefits of his working on your behalf. Trust him completely and seek for his grace to wait for the manifestation.

Prayer: Dear God, thank you because you are the Alpha and Omega. The almighty and all-sufficient one who rules and reigns in the affairs of men. O Lord, thank you for your promises over my life and destiny. I receive the grace to wait on you on the journey into a glorious fulfillment in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. ‎
