Walk circumspectly
”And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, Fill the men's sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man's money in his sack's mouth. And put my cup, the silver cup, in the sack's mouth of the youngest, and his corn money. And he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken. As soon as the morning was light, the men were sent away, they and their asses.“ Genesis 44:1-3 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/gen.44.1-3.kjv

As children of God it is important that we are vigilant at all times so that we don’t become preys in the hands of the devil. The Bible tells us that we should walk circumspectly, not as fools but to be wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil. The Bible reading today points to the importance of vigilance especially when the going appears to be good. Joseph’s brothers were back in Egypt to get some more food as the famine continued to bite hard. This time around they were treated to some sort of feast in Joseph’s house and then they were ready to return. Only this time though there was a trophy put in Benjamin’s bag to set him up. For people who got home the last time to discover that their money was back in their sack, I am surprised that they got up a second time and were heading home without checking their supplies. So much so that when they were rounded up by Joseph’s servant, they were so confident that they said that whoever the trophy was found with should be killed. For folks who had already had a close shave in the past, I’ld question that level of confidence. So, are you being vigilant in your walk with God? Or are you resting early? The Bible tells us to be vigilant because our adversary the devil continues to look for opportunities to devour. Don’t be caught napping. That your stand in the place of prayer and study of God’s words even when the going seems to be smooth.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are the mighty one in battle, our Lord and our savior, our shield and defender. Please Lord, give me the grace to be discerning and vigilant so that I am not caught unawares by the wiles of the evil ones in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
