What is your relationship with God
“And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead. Now, O Lord God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?” 2 Chronicles 1:8-10 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/2ch.1.8-10.kjv

What sort of relationship are you in with the Lord? Is it a fleeting relationship or a long-term one with mutual commitments and covenants? In the Bible reading today, we can see Solomon presenting his request to God on the basis of a covenant that God had made with David his father. David’s relationship with God was of the kind where God had given him long term covenants for his son and he had spent for God and was passionate enough about the things of God that he had prepared practically all that was needed for his son to build an altar for God. His journey with God had started from when he was a boy all by himself in the wilderness helped by God to defeat the Lion and Bear while he watched his father’s sheep and this continued all his life. Abraham had a long-term relationship with God and the whole kingdom of Israel leveraged the outcome of that relationship for many generations to come. So again the question is what relationship are you in with God. Is it on the basis of “What’s in it for me?” only? Or are you committed to mutual and sacrificial covenant? The blessings that come from a life of dedicated worship lasts a lifetime and outlives the initial recipient. Choose wisely.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for being an ever present help in time of need. Thank you for your continuous offer of friendship and fellowship. Please Lord, I commit to a dedicated relationship with you. Please accept me and let the benefits be evident in my life and generations yet unborn in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
