When glory departs
“So Saul died, and his three sons, and his armourbearer, and all his men, that same day together. And when the men of Israel that were on the other side of the valley, and they that were on the other side Jordan, saw that the men of Israel fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, they forsook the cities, and fled; and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.” 1 Samuel 31:6-7 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/1sa.31.6-7.kjv
It is a dangerous and miserable experience when the glory departs. In the Bible verse today we see how Saul and his sons all died in the battle. Before he went out to this battle he had been told that he will lose as his kingdom had been given to another because ‘he had chosen the voice of the people over that of God in the past’. The fire power behind the throne of Isreal had moved on to another person and the result was detrimental for Saul and the Isrealites who fled because their leader had died in battle. Obedience is key. Especially when you are in a position of authority where you actions or inactions can set the tone for others.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your presence that grants me victory always. Please let me never get too full of my self that I honor the gift more than the giver 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
