Willful Slavery

“And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD. And he gathered unto him the children of Ammon and Amalek, and went and smote Israel, and possessed the city of palm trees. So the children of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.” Judges 3:12-14 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/jdg.3.12-14.kjv

Willful Slavery

Be mindful of walking into lawful captivity. In today’s Bible reading, we see an example of this with the Israelites who opened the door of oppression from their enemies by choosing to defy the instructions of the Lord and going after the gods of their neighbors. As a result of this, God strengthened the hands of their enemies against them. In this instance, they ended up serving Moab for about 18 years. God’s instructions are clear. We need to stay away from sin and disobedience so that we can live in the fullness of the victory that God has called us into.   Our God is gracious, but he is also a God of principles. To obey is better than sacrifice.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because there is no one like you. Thank you because you are the gracious father. I come before you asking for your direction on my life’s assignment. Please lead me aright. Shine your light upon any darkness on my path so that I don’t stumble against a stone in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. ‎
