Working together for good

“David therefore departed thence, and escaped to the cave Adullam: and when his brethren and all his father's house heard it, they went down thither to him. And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.” 1 Samuel 22:1-2 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/1sa.22.1-2.kjv

Working together for good

The Bible says that God’s plans towards us is to give us an expected end - a hope and a future. However, sometimes the journey can be a far cry from the actual destination. But we can always rest assured that all things work together for good for those who love God and have been called according to his purpose. In today’s Bible reading, we see that despite being anointed as king and coming in proximity to the palace especially as the son-in-law of the king, he still had to flee into hiding. In a normal mind, the proximity to the palace at the time may have appeared to be the passage to being king immediately but we also know that there were enemies from the highest quarters who had seen that potential. So, he had to flee for his life to preserve the purpose of God over him. But even while he was in hiding, people still gathered to his leadership even though those clearly were not the type of people that he had in mind when he was being annointed. So, does it look like your present situation is far from the destination that God has promised? If He has said it then he will establish it, but there is a process in the interim where you must be shielded for the sake of the purpose and destinies that you carry on your inside. After all, even baby Jesus had to be hidden from Herod for some time.

Prayer: Dear God, I choose to trust you concerning your promises for my life. Please open my eyes to see the patterns in it all and the patience to know that you are working it all out for my good and to your glory 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
