You are not sufficient in yourself

“For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me.” Isaiah 47:10 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/isa.47.10.kjv

You are not sufficient in yourself

Be careful of feeling overly self-sufficient. When the Israelites were about to enter into the promised land, they received a note of warning in Deuteronomy chapter 8 to always remember that it is God that gives power to make wealth so that when they become comfortable they don’t start getting the feeling that they accomplished all that they achieved on their own.  Often, when the blessings of God comes to you, and your ideas and craft blossom smoothly like a well oiled wheel, there is a tendency to become self-reliant and disregard the maker of heaven and earth. In the Bible reading today, God noted about Babylon that their wisdom and knowledge had perverted them making them boastful saying that there is no one else like them. Be careful when you start to feel like you figured it all out and you don’t need God. It is a watchpoint because the Almighty God controls everything including life itself.  Never disregard the giver of life. It could have dire consequences.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness always. Thank you because you are the Almighty creator. The mighty and majestic one. Lord I humble myself before you. I return all the glory for everything that I have achieved back to you. Please lift me up like only you can and keep me up above principalities and powers in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. ‎
